Sam Burton

Chief Security Officer

Sam Burton is a security executive and co-founder of Western Confluence Group with over 15 years of progressive experience across executive protection, residential security, embedded program management, and crisis response. His career spans military law enforcement, federal intelligence, and the private security industry — giving him a rare operational depth that informs every program WCG builds for its clients, from private families to Fortune 500 and technology executives.

Sam co-founded and built Keelson Strategic into a thriving boutique security firm providing round-the-clock estate and travel protection across California. Through his career he has built and managed security programs for Fortune 500 executives, private families, and leading technology and fintech companies — bringing the same standard of discretion and operational excellence to each.

His foundational training is rooted in military and federal service. Sam served as a Military Police Officer with the U.S. Army, completed the California Police Academy (POST), and worked as a Criminal Intelligence Analyst with the DEA’s Northwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area in Seattle. He holds a LEOSA/H.R. 218 credential, reflecting his standing as a vetted law enforcement professional.

Sam holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Psychology from Purdue University. He remains hands-on in the field, actively supporting WCG clients in executive protection assignments and high-risk environments — because at WCG, leadership doesn’t stop at the office door.
